Oliver Schoenborn, Ph.D., Physics (Advisor, Shareholder)
Oliver Schoenborn obtained a PhD in Physics from the University of Toronto in 1998. There he studied the time-dependent kinetics of moving interfaces on curved membranes when subject to strong out-of-equilibrium bipolar energy wells. From 1998 to 2004, OS worked at the National Research Council's (NRC) Integrated Manufacturing Technologies Institute (IMTI) in London, ON, as a technical lead in multi-disciplinary R&D teams, developing training and simulation systems. His role as project manager was paramount to the development of the simulation capabilities at IMTI, and the rigor he brought to the teams allowed them to achieve unprecedented results. Oliver Schoenborn is currently a consultant at CAE Professional Services Canada, (formerly Greenley and Associates) in Ottawa, where he is a technical lead on software engineering projects in virtual reality applications, in the areas of Synthetic Defense Environments and Search and Rescue Operations. His work centers on building complex simulation systems and tools, involves identifying key technologies that will support the future development of applications being built, and involves gathering user requirements, and designing, implementing, testing, documenting, deploying and maintaining the simulation systems. is a GWPT shareholder.
